IKEA Swedish Meatball

IKEA Meatball.

Selalu jugak makan tapi too bad takda kat Kuantan.
Wanted to give my family rasa this meatballs kalau nak bawak dari KL macam tak fresh hahah alasan la Tiara padahal gatal tangan nak masak sendiri. Saja nak cuba.

So here is the recipe and i'd say lagi sedap sebabnya pakai ground beef yang fresh.
Kat IKEA tu rasa macam processed meat sikit frozen beef. Cuba la resepi ni nanti makan sambil nangis.




MEATBALLS:

MEATBALL INGREDIENTS

2 tablespoons olive oil (minyak biasa pun boleh cuma olive oil lagi sedap dan sihat)
1 onion, diced (bawang besar warna kuning tu ye kenkawan)
500 gram or 1 kg ground beef
1 potato
1/2 cup breadcrumbs
2 large egg yolks
1/4 teaspoon ground allspice
1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg (nutmeg ini buah pala ye )
Salt and freshly ground black pepper and white pepper, to taste


MEATBALL INSTRUCTIONS

1) Peel and cut the potatoes into chunks. Masuk dalam periuk kecik letak air and bring to a boil. Cook the potato until fork tender and drain well. Mash the potato. Set aside until completely cool.

2) Heat 1 tablespoon olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add onion, and cook, stirring frequently, until onions have become translucent, about 2-3 minutes.

3) Dalam mangkuk besar, combine ground beef, mash potato, breadcrumbs, egg yolks, allspice, nutmeg and cooked onion; season with salt and pepper, to taste. Guna wooden spoon atau tangan yang bersih, stir until well combined.

Siapa ada beef blender tu boleh pakai nanti lagi halus and smooth bila nak bentuk.

4) Roll the mixture bulat-bulatkan dia jadi meatballs, boleh dapat dalam 25 meatballs camtu.

5) Add remaining 1 tablespoon olive oil to the skillet. Tapi boleh guna pemanggang ajaib doraemon jugak eh tak pemanggang biasa je ajaib kat mana tak tau la kenapa nama dia cenggitu. Add meatballs, in batches, and cook until all sides are browned, about 4-5 minutes. Pastu i sambung bakar dalam oven to make sure dalam dia pun masak ranum omnomnom. Yang ni agak-agak jela berapa minit. Selawat pastu tadah tangan depan oven baca ayat kursi hahah.

6) Transfer to a paper towel-lined plate. Tabur white pepper sikit black pepper sikit. Done.



GRAVY:
There are actually dua cara untuk gravy yang kedua tu jenis pekat sikit:


GRAVY 1

INGREDIENTS:

1/4 cup unsalted butter
1/3 cup all-purpose flour
4 cups beef broth
3/4 cup heavy cream
Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley leaves



INSTRUCTIONS:

1. To make the gravy, melt butter in the skillet.

2. Whisk in flour until lightly browned, about 1 minute.

3. Gradually whisk in beef broth and cook, whisking constantly, until slightly thickened, about 1-2 minutes.

4. Stir in heavy cream, season with salt and pepper, to taste.

5. Soy sauce sikit dalam 1 tablespoon

Stir in meatballs and cook, stirring occasionally, until heated through and thickened, about 8-10 minutes.

Serve immediately, garnished with parsley, if desired.


GRAVY 2

INGREDIENTS

2 tbs butter
1 tbs tepung gandum
1 onion - diced
2 tomatoes - diced
1 1/2 cup cold water
100 ml heavy cream or fresh milk
3 tbs tomato sauce
3 tbs sos tiram
2 tbs kicap manis
1 tbs black pepper sauce
1 tbs ground black pepper
1 chicken cube
1 tbs sugar
1 beef cube or even better beef broth buat sendiri.



INSTRUCTIONS

1. Melt the butter. Tumis bawang hingga bawang layu jangan sampai garing oke agak-agak naik bau tu cukup dah.

2. Add in tepung gandum, kacau sampai warna cokelat sikit then add in tomatoes biar je sampai tomato layu.

3. Add in cold water, fresh milk or heavy cream, sos tomato, sos tiram, kicap manis, sos lada hitam, chicken cube, beef cube, gula dan serbuk cukup rasa. Stir well and biar sampai mendidih.

4. Kena selalu kacau ye nanti dia ketul pulak tak sedap.

5. Dah siap tu tutup api biar dia suam kejap then masukkan dalam blender. Blend sampai halus. Siap.
